Painting from Photos
The process of painting starts with a dialogue between the artist and the client (by phone or e-mail). During the course of this consultation the size of the painting and possible compositional set up is discussed. The client e-mails or mails three or more photographs of the subject to the artist's New York studio. The artist suggests the most interesting and suitable photo to paint and returns it to the client for approval.
Portrait painting takes two to three months for a single subject, depending on size. Before the actual painting is shipped to the client, a photograph of the completed portrait is sent for approval. After adding any final touches suggested by the client, the painting is finished, and sent, ready for display.
